Changed from Atenolol to Lisinoprol because of the new guidelines...

Changed from Atenolol to Lisinoprol because of the new guidelines about beta blockers versus ACE inhibitors. Within 24 hours I was dizzy, weak, pains in my abdomen, tight chest, heart pounding, breathless, could not run for the bus. I persevered and took 3 doses (5 mgs each) but eventually felt so bad I stopped and after 24 hours went back on Atenolo. Within 1 hour I was much improved. In spite of the guidelines and the long term dangers of beta blockers, I feel I have no choice but to stick with them as my quality of life on Lininopril was unacceptable.

Did you wean off the Beta Blocker. They syptoms you were having are for sure the withdrawal symptoms of the deadly beta blocker. They can be dangerous to try to get off of. If you stop them suddenly they can kill you or cause major electrical damage to your heart. Beta Blockers also damage your lungs and can also cause bronchial spasms which can be more frightening than a heart attack. Be very cautious when stopping a beta blocker. I consider them to be dangerous and deadly. A beta blocker almost killed me.
