HI, I was prescribed Levaquin for a sinus infection. I took it for 9 days. I could not sleep but worse than that I got pain in my knees. It started in the back of the knees and felt like a pulling sensation. Then the pain moved into the front of the knees and limits me to how I bend. I can not kneel down or squat since taking this medication. It has limited me considerably on how I do things. It has been 2 months since I stopped the levaquin but I still have the symptoms. Does anybody else have these symptoms and if so does it ever go away????

i was prescribed Levaquin for 10 days and have had much the same symptoms that you had/have.. I took the full 10 days because I was taking it for bronchitis and I couldn't take the chance of getting pneumonia again. My symptoms started about the fourth day but didn't get really painful until the seventh day. My knees are so sore and swollen, it's hard, if not impossible to squat or kneel. I have a really hard time going DOWN stairs and getting up from a sitting position. I went back to the doc and she said that yes, it could be a side effect of the Levaquin and gave me Vicodin. I don't like taking Vicodin, but took it at bedtime that night. It didn't help. Yesterday (2 days later), I saw my PC and he ordered xrays, more blood work (looking for Lyme), they had already done an ultrasound of my right leg to rule out a blood clot ( the ultrasound showed a lot of fluid on the knees). Well, I am still in horrible pain and still don't have an answer! I am on my feet all day and it's really hard to make it through the day. Doc said to ice my knees as much as possible and take Aleve. Yeah, right.

I am discouraged to hear that you still had problems two months later. How are you doing now? Let me know what you did for it and if you're better now. Thanks
