I had two shot in my low back for cronic pain. After the second shot I found my self with a head ache that would not go away. Then my wife noticed redish purple growths on my elbows and I began to have weakness and severe pain in my feet,ankles,knees my right shoulder and my forarms ,wrist and hands. my right hand and wrist I was unable to use because it felt like the connective tissue was being torn apart in it. When I went to the doctor he dismissed the every thing except the growths on my elbows and sent me to a dermatologist. The dermatologist thought it was psorisis but said the apperence after the shots would be strange because he uses kenalog 40 for psorisis. He told me the effects of kenalog 40 should be about 30 days and if the growths went away in that time period than it was the shots that caused the growths. They did go away in the 30 days following the shots. And so did the headache but the joint pain, weakness, and the high blood pressure is still a problem 11 months later. I contacted bristol meyers squibb by email to find out what to do to reverse the problems and received a call from a doctor representing the drug manufacture and was told that the problems I was having were rare but were not unheard of and that the problems would be permanent, that there was no treatment to modify or repair the damage done. At this point I can not stand ,sit ,or walk without cronic pain. My low back pain is worse than ever and I have lost 50 percent of the strength in my hands. Where I work has refused to allow me to come back to work because of my health and I have been turn down for ss benefits. I to had a problem with anger after my shots but figured it was because I was dealing with retarded doctors that did not read the research on the drugs they were using and had no clue to the side effects they would cause.

I too had Kenalog 40 injections in my lumbar spine and can tell you it was a life altering experieince!! I immediately became very ill after leaving the clinic and my life has not been the same sense. It is now 1/12 years later and I am very sick. Like the other blogs I have read all doctors who you see for the problems after these injections try to make you think you are nuts and deny that there is any relationship to the injections. I would never have had the injections had I known they would use Kenalog 40. There was no consent although I continually questioned the doctor prior to the injections about the side effects and the need for them. After a lot of research on this drug I have nearly every severe symptom it lists as potential side effects. I was very healthy until these injections and have become seriously ill. I am currently still trying to get to the bottom of these problems. Doctors have a tendency to protect other doctors and that has made getting to the bottom of this even more frustrating. Although I let the doctor who did the injections and my Neurosurgeon who referred me to the pain doctor know how sick I was on several occassions they did nothing to help. I would be interested in knowing if anyone has been diagnosed with other disabling diseases since these injections and if they have been diagnosed. If so, where and by whom?
