My 18 year old daughter was on 60 mg Prednisone for 5 days following an ear infection. The dr. did not taper her off at all. Two weeks later she had a severe sudden onset of depression and anxiety (no Hx or family Hx of psychiatric probs). Was put on anti-depressant meds by the ER doctor and found out today by a psychiatrist that it was a latent psychotic reaction to the Prednisone because she was on such a high dose and it wasn't tapered off. Such a scary and unnecessary experience. I hope that you're better and everything's under control.
