This is my sons 3rd week on Doxy'. He was prescribed it by a dermatologist for severe acne. All this week he has had sever nausea and cramping. The nausea was so bad the first time he made himself throw up so that he could feel better. Today he started to throw up at 4am(not forced) and was dry heaving till 9.25am. I immediately new it was the antibiotics and took him off of them. My son has epilepsy and is on a high dose of anticonvulsants which he has been taking for over two years. My concern is that, as he was taking the Doxy' with the anticonvulsants, he very well could have thrown up his anticonvulsants which are vital for preventing any seizures occuring, obviously. Better to have a few pimples than feel like this and risk having a seizure. The doctor did say that taking them would have no effect on the actual anticonvulsant itself and it hasn't actually effected that. Just the risk of loosing his meds while vomiting.
