I also received a large indentation on upper gluteus medius after a kenalog injection. My doctor told me that it was a bursa capsule surrounding inflamation on the surface of my muscle. I myself cannot feel a capsule, just a hole. I am very aware of it and sometimes think that it is hurting. I am not satisfied with what my doctor told me and I don't understand why it scarred me in such a way. I have received injections in this same location years before and did not have this response, why now?
