I have been taking Lisinopril for about a year and a half. I started to experience severe hair loss about 4-5 months after starting the medication. I went to a dermatologist and he says that I am basically experiencing the female hereditary version of "male patterned baldness". I am 34 year old female that has always had thick hair. (so does my mother and my 3 sisters) I told him I thougt it was from my blood pressure medicine and he told me to accept it, that this is probably hereditary and start with Rogaine. I just don't think it's alopecia like the doc suggested since it did not start until I started taking medication.
I would stop taking lisinopril, but aparently this is a side effect of most beta-blocker medication. (I'll probably stroke out if I stopped taking some kind of BP meds)
