My son is 7 and he has been taking Singulair and Zyrtec for 1 1/2 years also. I was wondering how long it finally took for Singulair to get out of her system? My son has been very hyper with nightmares and bed wetting. I never connected it to Singulair/Zyrtec. I have been reading about the possible BAD side affects it has and was wondering if that has been his problems. We were also thinking he has ADHD. His teacher says he has no self control and his Karate instructor is being very patient with him but threatened to kick him out if he doesnt stop disrupting class. He has not taken Singulair for a week now but I still havent noticed much changes, when will he get back to his normal self?
It took probably a month before we noticed big changes. She is still very hyper and defiant, but the scary stuff is gone..she is able to communicate now, with a give and take, and the scary obsessions are gone. I wonder how much the singulair will have a lasting effect on her hyperactivity. Children who are so little are taking this drug, and I am fearful that we just don't know the lasting effects on their brains. I did file a complaint with the FDA, which you can do on their website. I think everyone with problems should do the same .. the FDA will investigate if they receive enough complaints.
