I have been on toprol 200mg daily for over 5 yrs. I have a hypertropic cardiomyopathy heart condition and it has been my wonder drug. Prior to toprol I was on atnenol (spelling??) and it really made me tired. At first biggest side effects was the wild and colorful dreams. I'm talking was that real or a dream. Over time the dreams became less and less frequent and intense. Overall the weight gain has not been a big factor but I don't seem to have the high energy levels I used to have. I'm not sure if it is the drug or not, but I have acquired a wicked sweet tooth.........
