I was put on Verapamil 120mg after being taken off of Atenolol which I had been on for 5 years. I also took Lisinipril along with the Atenolol. I had a couple of rough months getting off the Atenolol as there are some side effects to doing that. I was put on th Verapamil along with Enalapril and Hydrochlorithiazide, didn't feel well. Off the Enalapril and Hydrochlorithiazide now and have increased the Verapamil to 180mg. I feel so tired but can't sleep, have no energy and my heartrate is still up there. Doctor wants to add Digoxin, will this help or make it worse. I felt better on the lower dose but it wasn't controlling the BP. Thank you for your time and would appreciate any info.

i have been on verapamil 240mg for a while. while it does make me a little tired i really haven't had any side effects. i think if you felt better on the lower dose, trying the dig might be worth it. i too have a rapid heart rate and take inderal/verapamil for it. while it does make me feel tired it has brought my pulse down. i like the inderal which i have been on for 30yrs because it also calms you down. all in all, i would ? going on inderal or if your dr really wants the dig i'd give it a try. the only thing is you have to have your blood levels checked every so often. by the waqy i'm a nurse so i see all of these drugs used frequently. good luck
