Muscle weakness side-effect is very dangerous. It happened to me over 10 years ago and because doctors didn't know what was going on, Lithium, then other meds. literally tore up my muscle and tendon/connector tissues. Mostly in the torso area. Pain starts in upper thighs and/or upper shoulders. Can also be in hips and lower back. Neck pain is present. I had to have a C5-C7 fusion, a rotator cuff tear repair and several bone spurs (calcium) shaved off. Ask your doc to check your calcium levels and be aware if they are on the high side. get the heck off Lithium if you have any of these effects.
