I take those shots and I am on a regular cycle. I have not had any problems
with the Kenalog and I am on my 5th shot. I am not tired and I don't feel disoriented at all. Maybe there is something else affecting you.
I think many drs. are totally ignorant of what the medications they prescribe may do to people, and some really do not listen seriously to what their patients are telling them about side effects. I had a series of 2 epidural Kenalog injections for lower back problems. It was like a miracle - my back problems disappered, but every night for 7 weeks after the injections, I had several leg cramping while in bed, and in the day I had spasming of some of some of my fingers whereby I could not move them until the spasm stopped. My lower back discomfort returned, but not as bad as it was before the Kenalog.
Many years ago, I had some kind of steroid injects from a dermatologist for eczema. Yes, the eczema improved, but my mentrual cycles were messed up for a time. Maybe you would do better going to a different dr.
I have just had my second caudal epidural Kenalog injection, my doctor gave me "the largest allowable dose" this time around. The side effects, so far, are palpitations, high blood pressure, and fatigue (from feeling the 'fight or flight' sensation all the time). I have yet to get the menstrual side effect that I had last time. This was pretty much having a period for 5 1/2 weeks out of the two month post injection time. This was a side effect my doctor told me about (after he injected me!!) and said it is quite common, I'm 45 and it's nothing to do with being peri-menapausal!
The whole steroid side effect thing obviously effects people differently and unfortunately large doses have quite an effect on me personally.
The bottom line is your concerns are valid, and you definately need a new Physiatrist, getting a decent Workers Comp MD can be a bit of a crap-shoot.
please tell me if you are getting betting? I have the same symptoms, I need help.
I too have had problems due to the Kenelog injections. Please tell me if you are getting betting? I have the same symptoms, I need help.
