My 16 year old son has been diagnosed with Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis. The treatment is Singulair. I have not picked up the prescription yet, and after reading these posts, I definitely will not. It is so frightening to read these side effects. I'm going to bring him to my naturopathic physician asap. Is anyone else taking Singulair for the same disease?

How wonderful to have a post from someone with the same thing as me. I was diagnosed with Esophilic Esophagitus in November of 2006 and have been taking singulair ever since. I must say it has given me relief from the symptoms, however lately I have packed on the pounds with no change in diet or excercise. I've gained 8 pounds in 6 weeks. Not a huge gain, but any gain, I hate. I do have some shaking, but no trouble sleeping or any of the other side effects. I'm trying to weight the pros of no esophagus problems with the cons of weight gain.
