1 week is not long enough for the pill to be in your blood stream, relax jackass
one week certainly is long enough for the medication to be in your bloodstream. I take the medication for epilepsy. It is absorbed into the bloodstream and takes effect within just a few hours. i take 75mg twice a day and I too find that I am more irratable and sleep less. The sleep for me may be related to the fact that the old medication I was on for my epilepsy doubled as a sedative, so I am not used to sleeping without it. The tingling in the feet can be very painful. It has however kept me fit free for over 3 months now, and i have been having them since I was 8 (I am now 24). I've been on topirimate now for nearly 4 months and I am finding that I'm getting less irratable. I think you'll find it easier to cope with time...i don't have young children to deal with, but the lad i'm living with can be extremely frustrating, and I think it just takes a little while to adjust to the medication. So, ignoring the rather unhelpful comment of the gentleman above, try and enjoy the headache free times, and trust me that the irratability will reduce. I promise. Love Jill x
