I took Lisinopril 10 mg for about 10 days. My doc had told me that 5% of those tested developed an itchy cough, and to stop if this happened to me. I stopped as soon as the cough developed. That was more than a week ago. I haven't been able to get a night's sleep since then. The cough is dry and hacking and continuous. Coughing can also come at any time during the day. Sometimes a coughing attack hits when I already have a cough drop in my mouth. I feel just the same as I've felt when experiencing a sinus infection, with nighttime drainage and sinus headache. When I called the doctor's office, I was advised to take an over-the-counter cough med. It hasn't helped. I am exhausted. This seems to be a case of the "cure" being worse than the initial problem.

I started taking lisinopril April 13th on May 5 I was in emergency room with hacking cough, chills, mussel weakness and palpatations. and shortness of breath. After all test, EKG,blood workup,. full chest x-ray, and Dr. heard palpatation so he had me on moniter. All test were fine, except the moniter picked up that my heart was throwing off pvc's. I was very lucky, Dr. I got had his wife had symptoms from lisinopril so he made me get off and put me back on my old bp meds. It took two full days to get out of system, but now my heart is normal and everything is fine, but cough won't quit. Annoying, but when I think what could have happened, I was very lucky. I could have had coronary arrest or a stroke. Now I don't care if prescription is on preffered list or not, I will find the money somehow it beats having your medicine kill you!!

I've been on Lisinopril 10mg for almost a year , i'm 41 and it's doing great on my high blood pressure. Actually it lowered it in less than 1 week !, i take it when i go to sleep because if i don't it does make me dizzy. But overall i think it's great, and it's covered by my insurance.

actually, it's morelike 11% of patients, mostly women, who delvelop the cough. and yes, it can cause stroke, heart failure and kidney failure. better to control your blood pressure with a good diet

Ever sence the doctor put me on lisinopril 10 mg's I've had a lot of mucus and a bad cough it wakes me up just about ever hour on the hour and I cough so bad until I wind up throwing up.
All that comes up is real thick mucus sometimes it's so thick until I have to pull it off my tounge with a paper towel.
And sometimes it's just a big glob of clear mucus big enough to half fill a cup.
I'm so glad I read some of these report's now I know this might be my problem also.
Thank GOD for people like you all who care enough about other's to let them know.
I'll be praying for you all as you pray for me
GOD BLESS.
