It was nice to find this website, finally figuring out a reason why I get my yeast infections, headaches, naseau, pain on my left breast bone, fatigue, mood swings, etc... I always thought it was just me, but I'm now thinking that maybe it's not. I've had recurrent yeast infections ever since being on Yasmin (I've been on it for over 4 years) and my MD has never mentioned it could be the pill. I finally started seeing a connection between the two when I started tracking what happens to me when I miss taking the pill (ALWAYS a yeast infection). And it got me to thinking that maybe there are other women out there who suffer from the same thing. Also, at some points I actually thought I had serious mental/health problems b/c of my consistent headaches, fatigue, and mood swings. I used to be really active up until I was 19 when I started on Yasmin, and it went downhill from there. I guess I just thought that this was just my normal grown up self (I know sounds kinda lame). And I've totally experienced the lack of sex drive, it seems I'm only interested the week before I get my period or when I'm on it.

well, I guess I'm just another one who is on this pill and questioning it...I am taking Yaz, the lower dose form, for a week now and am wondering if this sudden congestion in my lungs out of nowhere has anything to do with it. I am a bit sleepless, have bowel movements like twice a day the past week (when usually I'm every couple of days) and headaches that won't go away with ibuprofen. Anyone have these symptoms? Especially the lung congestion thing? (I don't have it anywhere else, in my throat, nose, sinuses or anything....)

I had the same problem on tri-cyclen LO I have had an yeast infection for four STRAIGHT years!!!! I hate my life right now! The doctor told me today he didn't think birth control cause YI but it does and he put me on yasmin today! I was hoping this helped but now I am worried after reading your problem!

yeast infections, headaches, pain in breast, fatigue, mood swings, etc..all me!!!

The sex will never get better until you are off of birth control. I have a friend that got off of it and she is always wanting to now!

Thanks for your posting hineygirl, stupid birth control... I still haven't stopped using it b/c I don't want to get pregnant and it keeps my face clear. I'm getting married in 3 months and I'm looney enough as it is (I'm sure with our without the Yasmin right now, LOL). But you had a yeast infection for 4 straight years, that's unbelievable!!! How are you coping with that? I've found that Hydrocortisone cream works for the itching and reduces the amount of time I have one. What have you found that works well? On Yasmin, if I miss 1 pill and have to make it up by taking 2 pills in one day, I end up with a yeast infection (probably b/c it messes with my hormones).

I don't know what to do I am starting Yasmin sunday but I haven't read one good thing about it yet! He took me off of ortho tri-cyclen LO to help with the yeast infection and it seems that everyone here is having the same problem! What should I do????

I have just decided that I was going to live with the YI for the rest of my life and I pray all the time GOD would just help me get through it and get rid of it! My fiancee just can't stand it! We are getting married in almost 2 months and I'm worried starting a new pill will mess with my periods and if I just stop taking birthcontrol I feel I maybe on it on me wedding and I bloat really bad and I need my wedding dress to fit! What do you think I should do I don't want to have a stroke!!! And we a really careful not to have a baby right now!!!

hineygirl, I also am on Yasmin and used to get yeast infections constantly. Are you sexually active? My former gyno did say that it could be caused from the pill, but also suggested that perhaps my boyfriend and I were passing it back and forth (I would clear up but it would return every time). He would prescribe the pills specifically for yeast infections (can't remember the name, but very common), and he told me to give them to my boyfriend as well. After my boyfriend went a round on the meds, I never had another yeast infection, EVER. You may want to consider. Good luck!

I just started using yaz this month. I started it during my first day of menstruation, but up to now I still have spotting (I only have 5 tablets left). Does anyone there experienced the same side effect? If so, do you know what could be the reason for this? My OB check-up is still scheduled next week. Thanks.

I've been on Yasmim for about 2 months. I started Yasmin to regulate my periods. But since starting the birth control pill I've developed mood swings, decreased sex drive and my liver enzymes have gone up which may indicate the beginining of liver damage. This pill really sucks and don't recommend it to anyone.

I have been on Yasmin for a little over a year now, I was on tri-cyclen previously ( I'm surprised I didn't kill anyone, worst 9 years of my life, or my husbands rather LOL) My only complaint about Yasmin would be the constant yeast infections that I'm sure it causes ( I have only ever had one previous to taking Yasmin), it's driving me a bit mad. About a month after I started taking Yasmin I got a yeast infection and since then I get one about every other month. I can't afford the $20 diflucan pill plus $20 for monistat every couple of months, not to mention taking diflucan kills both good and bad bacteria, so I always end up getting a nasty cold afterwards (right now for instance) On a good note I seem to be the only women on Yasmin or any birth control pill that hasn't experienced a deminished sex drive!!!
