I am due to start my third pack of YAZ, and I am getting off today. My dr. gave me a three month trial after I switched from ortho-tricyclin low because I had break-through bleeding. I realize with any contraceptive there are going to be side-effects, but this is ridiculous... I have had extreme fatigue, I am sleepy all the time. I also feel like I cannot think clearly, like my head is clogged or something. I also feel very anxious and this feeling like I am going to pass out. Also my eyes feel very dry and unfocused. Nothing is worth feeling like this, and it is very obvious that all these symptoms are coming from this pill. I am scared to try anything else!

I had problems with YAZ too, but the best birth control pill I took (and I should have never switched) was LoEstrin. I didn't experience any side effects. Talk to your doctor...maybe there is something else out there for you.

I stopped taking YAZ mid cycle a few weeks ago. I was so depressed, tired and anxiety ridden, which is not like me at all. I felt 100% better in 48 hrs. Good luck!

I took LoEstrin when I was younger (for about 10 years) and had no problems. In Feb of this year was put on Yaz for bleeding issues and in my 2nd month of taking them I developed a blood clot in my arm and in my lung. I ended up in the hospital for 4 days. I now have to give myself blood thinner shots everyday. I encourage all women to be careful and research their medications. I had heard great things from my Gyn about Yaz. Obviously, Yaz and I "don't get along well." If you don't feel right about medication you are taking- trust your "gut", talk to your Dr. and find an alternative. Good Luck.

I have been on Yaz for almost 2 months and I feel soo exhausted! I am not able to function like normal. I was wondering if this side effect is only temporary and will go away after the first 3 months. Has anyone taken Yaz for a longer period of time?

I started Yaz last November due to a hormonal imbalance. My GYN said that it would "even out" my hormones. I had severe anxiety and suffered many sleepless nights due to the anxiety. I went off the pill in March because I literally felt like I was going crazy! I started the Yaz again two days ago because of the side effects from my hormonal imbalance. I suffer from acne, hot flashes and hair loss. I thought that by going back on the pill that it would clear these symptoms since it did the last time I took it. I've only been on it for 2 days and am already once again suffering from anxiety and panic attacks. My head is very fuzzy and I feel like I am going to lose my mind! Does anyone else know what I am talking about? I was glad to read that others have had similar experiences from taking this wicked drug! I'm not sure what to do-if I should stop it or not. Sounds weird I know. I suffer from acne and major hair loss and hot flashes due to my hormonal imbalance and I'm only 35! Any suggestions from anyone? Maybe another form of birth control that others have tried and had success for hormonal problems?

I am having similar (though not as severe) symptoms possibly from Yaz. Did you have any of those symptoms with Orthotricyclen low? I am trying to look for an alternative to Yaz...

I've been on Yaz for 2 months and am about to start my 3rd month but after realizing so many others are having the same side effects and I'm not crazy I'm switching back to Ortho Tri Low! I've had horrible mood swings on yaz, also headaches, DEEP depression and anxiety!!!! So glad I found this website!

I have also had irregular bleeding from YAZ. i have been on my period for 3 weeks! this is my first month on YAZ. it is horrible. I originally got it because i have acne and my gynocologists said it would help. but it has only gotten worse! my mother has noticed fine small bumps on my face. i broke out a few days ago. i am going to get checked for blood clots..because i've had some weird shooting pains in my arm. I am getting off of it. not worth it.

I HATE Yaz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I switched from Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo like a DUMMY......and I feel like a different person. Weight gain (4 lbs. in 3 weeks) .....can't stop eating!!!! I feel depressed, VERY VERY TIRED, and have a shortness of breath when I try to excercise. This is HORRIBLE! I've never felt so bad in my life. Today is my last day, I'm going back to Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo.
