I have been taking 500mg of Levaquin for the past 24 days. Now I have severe pain in both achilles tendons and lower calves of my legs. None of my regular doctors have made any connection between the pain and the Levaquin. I just called a new medical resident on staff at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta and he told me to stop the medication immediately because it can, in rare cases, cause the tendons to rupture. He said new research shows that Levaquin can damage tendons in some patients.
