I has the same coughing spellIn lesser tim for about two weeks < I had to get rid of the drug, and still coughing up to yhis present day.

I just start taking lisinopril 20mg for one week I start experiencing rapid heart beats,sore throat and coughing.This is my 3rd blood pressure my doctor have tryed, #1 antenol #2metoprolol 25mgxl,are there any thing out there any on can recommend,i am open for ideas.

I stopped taking this drug after 3 1/2 months. My doctor said I need to take it so I went back on it. So I coughed for another 4 months. I went back to my doctor and talked to her about the situation. My blood pressure wasn't too high so I told my doctor that I was not going to take lisinopril any longer and will monitor my blood pressure for a month to see how it goes. That was in November 2007. I then monitored by blood pressure at least 3 times a day and kept a record of it. After several days the blood pressure starting going up so I knew I needed to take something. HOWEVER, I STOPPED COUGHING. I went back to doctor in December with my blood pressure record. She put me on Atenolol 25 mg. and it's working. DOING GREAT AND NO COUGHING.
If your still coughing, talk to your doctor there must be a different drug out there that you can take.
