If you are a woman or have a daughter PLEASE READ....... Please be very careful before getting a Kenalog injection especially if you are a woman or for your daughter. In March my 13 year old daughter received one Kenalog injection for hay fever. Now almost 4 MONTHS later it is a 2 inch indentation with dark bruising all around it. She has also had her period the entire time with maybe a 1-2 day break between them. It has taken this long for the doctors to say the bleeding is from the Kenalog injection. I never would have allowed them to give this to her if I had known of these side effects. She has been put through test after test and no end in site. Now my 13 year old will have to go on birth control to stop the bleeding and there will prob. be side effects from that as well. I was shocked to find this site and now how many lives this drug is hurting. Now my daughter is suffering, all from 1 SHOT.

I feel I am having similar problems. I delivered my daughter 2 1/2 yrs ago and my tailbone popped. I eventually found a pain specialist who has been giving me repeated kenalog and marcaine injections into my tailbone area for almost 2 years.I get these appx every 8 weeks. I've noticed this month I have been on my period for 20 days!!! I had no idea until now that this could be the result of Kenalog! I also have extreme pain in my pelvic area and inner thighs that get so painful I have to walk on crutches. I will NEVER receive another injection again now that I have found this site.My Dr says my problems aren't a result of the shots.

When you are at the dr's office and they say this is what we are going to do for your long time sinus infection, you don't stop to go read on it and come back to the dr's to get it done, you trust your physician is doing what is in your best interest. I didn't get any medical sheet to describe any side effects and went on my merry way.

I got my period a week earlier than normal and after day 5 (3 days is my normal) I was discussing with a friend and she asked if I had allergies or any steroid shot (particulary kenalog), she was told by her dr AFTER she had the shot and she had to seek medical attention because she too had an abnormal period that kenalog can cause your cycle to become erratic.

I just visited my dr who gave me the shot (now it has been almost two full weeks of a period) and he tells me that Kenalog is NOT proven to be the factor of the erratic periods and if it continues wants to refer me to a gynocolgist. At this point I am confused. Does the Dr really not know the side effects or does he get commission from his gynoclogist buddy?

Well I got a two day break from my period and was greeted with yet another start to a new period today.

I am totally frustrated (and so is my husband).

It makes me feel better to know this is possibly a normal side effect. But I am curious as to HOW long is this going to go on??
