I'm 35 and I've have had mild asthma since I was about 10 year old. At times I've been able to go weeks without needing to take anything, then stress, envirnoment triggers etc fire it up. I started taking advair 100/50 a couple of years back, and right now my breathing feels just about the worst it ever has. Without the advair I feel an uncomfortable tightness that I've never had before, a whole lot worse that the wheezing. Over the past couple of years I've lacked energy, been a lot more anxious and I've been warned of potential heart issues. I have a very healthy lifestyle and I assumed I was just getting older and more fragile...after reading these posts I'm seeing a possible connection. Like some other people have said I sometimes feel like something is stuck in my throat / top of my lungs, it almost feels like phlegm but I can't cough it up. I've stopped the advair for 3 days as of today, so far the tightness is managable, and the rescue inhaler is at hand (although I haven't had to use it yet). I'm hoping I can get back to previous drug free times.

I feel like I have something stuck in my throat all the time. I went of my advair for a week and didn't notice it. I took 2 doses and the lump was back.

I don't know if it's related to taking Advair, but I did find after about 6 months use I had developed a small crater in my throat and it would get filled with food debris and difficult to remove. If you don't remove it, it smells dreadful (just a tiny tiny piece of cottage cheese type material). Trying to find out what was the problem I found that it is called tonsiliths and not related to Thrush in the mouth at all, so antibiotics wont help it (and can cause Thrush itself as it diminshes good bacteria in the gut as well as bad), I've managed to aspirate the gunk (very difficult) with an ear wax cleaner (!) and now I avoid nuts which seemed to be the item most likely to cause filling of this tiny cavity. I just keep a check on it daily with mirrors and use Therabreath mouth wash and check my breath doesn't smell.
I wonder if Advair could have caused this little crater and if I'll get more. Apparently they are a lot more common than I thought (Googled) yet my dentist hadn't heard of them!
