Please let us know what you find. I am a 45 year old who suffer from hemiplegic migraines which basically means once the migraines starts, there is nothing they can do except watch as you slowly lose feeling on one side of your body (mine is the right - migraine on the left), experience speaking problems and no matter what, go through all the stroke "treatments" just in case. Then, the physical therapy starts AGAIN! The last time I experienced "temporary dementia" from being overmedicated in the hospital because they couldn't understand what I was saying. The topomax has stopped my migraines - fingers crossed - but at the cost of my "wittiness", self confidence, ability to speak or remember words when I need them. I think they "are on the right road" with this medication, but this with the blood thinners with a 45 year old with three kids, make this a long row to hoe....
I just started on a slowly increaseing dose of Topamax for migraines -- more than 30 year history. What caught my eye in your post was your sternal pain. For many years I had severe sternal tenderness (also undergoing all of the tests) right before my period and some residual soreness throughout. This is most likely caused by hormone influences and I just hoped it might give you a little peace of mind. Good luck.
How are you? God, I'm weaning off this crap now and I feel like I need a physical to find out what this did to my body (thank god I had an MRI right before I went on it!). This drug is a nightmare. I have heard by quite a few Health Care professionals that the side effects far outweight any benefits but you will always have your ignorant topamax advocate who will swear this is the best drug on earth.
