Wow. This site has been enlightening. I've been using the Nuvaring for almost 6 month. The side effects that I've experienced include nausea, loss of appetite, weight loss (probably from the nausea and loss of appetite), plus horrible migraines. My sex drive has plummeted to almost nothing. The thought of sex makes me feel disgusted and ill. Horrible mood swings - I feel incredibly angry a lot. I feel uncomfortable in my own skin, like the one user who felt like barbed wire was being dragged across her skin. Also, I've had constant itching and burning, plus painful urination.
Ive had painful urination as well. Not to mention very frequent urination! I at first thought i had a bladder infection and couldnt figure out how they were related, but apparently the ring can cause these side effects and even bacterial buildup to cause a urinary tract infection. I wish i wouldve known this sooner, and im glad im not the only one!!
Has anyone else had this happen to them?
I have been using the nuvaring for 3 months, since my abortion and the first 2 months were fine and I loved it. Now in the third month I have been expiriencing, frequent urination, terrible headaches, weight gain and im tired all the time now. I would def not recommend this to someone, I will be switching to a different method of BC very soon!!
