Has anyone experienced bilateral achilles tendon tears on Levaquin therapy?
Please note an infectious disease doctor noted this to be the culprit.
Yes. I have had MRI(s) on both tendons to rule out Levaquin. However, the tests showed damage to both tendons and found Levaquin as the cause. Substantial tear and pain left tendon. I have been dealing with this pain, and immobility for 9 months. I am currently in a walking cast and have had no relief and am looking at surgery in the future. Right tendon initially had swelling and pain, but it has lessened at this time. I am a RN and am extremely upset that I did not have a choice in this injury.
My Mother went into the hospital Monday for surgery to remove a portion of her colon because of a mass found there. Friday while lying in the hospital bed her tendons (2) on the right foot ruptured. She has had no previous problems with her feet. I don't know if she was given Levaquin. I do know she gets an injection of Heparin each day. Her hemoglobin is so low that she is expected to get blood next Monday. Her surgery went well and now she is being kept in for the foot which she has a boot for. She has been given pain pills and some other small red pill that she is not sure about. Could this be Levaquin?
I have lost both achielles tendons, Had to have cadavor grafts to replace tendons in my knee and have had tendon surgery on my shoulder. I had been treated numerous times with levoquin and cipro for sinus infections. I am concerned if these were all related to drug will I continue to have more tendon problems.
