Wow, this story is so similar to mine. I went on Advair in November of 2006 after Pulmicort and Prednisone did nothing. I had been diagnosed with Allergy related asthma like you -- allergies that I had for years but never knew I had asthma until recently (I wrongly assumed the occasional wheezing was allergy symptoms). I was on the Advair (250) until just a few weeks ago. The advair worked wonders for my asthma. I've been off for about 3 weeks now (doctor said to try being off of it for 2 months to evaluate my need for it). I was fine for the first week but the symptoms have since returned, worse than before. I don't know if it's just the summer weather or my body having gotten adicted to advair (I hate long term med use). I assume I will be back on advair after seeing the doctor again. Anyway, while on the advair I gained weight which is something that was never a problem for me. I also had some serious stomach issues (gastritis, reflex) that required me to see a gastroenterologist and go on Prilosec for a while. Plus, I had this strange rash on my left arm that wouldn't go away. Same three symptoms as you. Are these all advair related? Who knows, really? Strange though that we both had the same symptoms. However, I will probably go back on it because all of those problems are manageable, while trouble breathing is not and is the most scariest of those problems. Have you gone back on it? If not, has your asthma worsened?
Forgot to add to my last post that I have also experienced a lot more dizziness and light headedness while on the advair, so make it four for four with the same symptoms as you!
I've been on Advair 150 for over a year and have had severe acid reflux for the past month. I'm going to stop the Advair and see if that helps. From what I've read here, it probably will!
