I finally caved and took Lupron (3-month) injection this past December before my 5th surgery in January. It did make for a less invasive surgery, but the ever lasting effects have been horrible! Two to three weeks after the first shot, I was in the emergency room 4 times with high blood pressure and systems of arythmia. We stopped the add back therapy, hopping that was it, that did help, but I was put ion ativan 3 times a day for anxiety. It was a tough 3 months, hot flashes were horrible, I spent close to 3 months on the couch, which is extremely hard for me since I work 60+ hours a week! It is now the end of July, I have not gotten a full period, a day or two of clotting and continuous cramping, on my days off i can't move off the couch and still have trouble sleeping! I did not take the second shot and would not take it again, I also put on 35 pounds (that helps boost the ego during menopause at 36..lol) I would never take it again, and now due to severe migrains and age cannot go back on BCP. I know that Lupron has helped many, but this drug absolutely changed my life this past 6 months and not for the better. Before Lupron I never tood any pain meds, don't get me worng I suffered tremendously but I was convinced that if I kept going I would continue to work thru the pain, most of the time I could. Do what is working for you go with your gut!!!
