I am a 38 yr old female. Previously extremely active. I have PVC's, my hr was actual 164 the day I saw a cardiologist. I am currently on 50mg toprol xl daily. I'm afraid to stop the meds but, I have soooooo many side effects. I've asked my doctor several times to change it or help me stop taking it. A resounding NO WAY always follows.
The most recent experience in his office was to try again to change this med. I have tremors, not a little shaking, but, like a detox shaking tremor. He refered me to a neurologist who advised me he belived I had early symptoms of Parkinsons disease. And this was from another medication I've taken for IBS for the past twenty years Librax......
I really don't know what to do. I can't handle my heart rate that high, it is actually still high around 120, but, so much better than before. I believe the tremors and lack of concentration, weakness in one side, etc.... most bothersome is the absolute stupidity I have now. I walk off or leave the house with something on the stove, we have a gas cooktop, that's really really bad. There are other examples tooo. I just wondered if you went off this med, and if so, are your PVC's better or worse or the same? That is supposed to be what I have. But, I feel like I'm seeing a bunch of witch doctors!!!!!!!!
