Levaquin cured my pneumonia but I'm now having trouble with my knees and shoulders. I can hardly bear my weight and am having trouble performing simple tasks such as reaching to answer the phone. Has anyone else suffered this way? Otherwise I feel well. I discontinued using Levequin on my doctor’s advice but when I explained my symptoms was told this was not a problem associated with Levaquin. I wonder. I'm 60 years old, very active and hope this problem is only temporary. I've got life to live!!!!

Velma, go to a different doctor, if your knees are burning and your tendons feel like they're ripping it IS the Levaquin! Go to www.levaquin.com and print out the side effects and show them to your dr. They need to take responsibility for this! Like I said, I just want to be treated for what is wrong with me and get this out of my system right quick! I am going to follow that diet someone else has suggested. I am also taking stronger pain medication to get through this. I will post an update after my rhumatologist appointment (in week and a half) and let everyone know how I am progressing. I am praying for ALL of you and it hurts me to read that some of you are still in pain and this is a permanent or long term disease for some of you. I also want to know if there is ONE person out there that has been diagnosed? Has anyone had ruptured tendons or been diagnosed with ruptured tendons or some type of tendonitis? I am thinking those of you who have are now feeling better and that only of those who have not are still suffering because we are not being treated properly (well me as of yet).

I will keep checking on all of you and just wanted to thank all of you for your support!

I also took levaquin for pneumonia. I have been misirable ever since, At first the pain in my shouldrs and lower arms were unbearable. I could not lift a half gallon of milk. If anything touched my elbow it burned.
I am now over that. But my knees are popping, cracking, it is like they get stuck in one place and I have to force them to move in the right direction. This is coming from someone who walked 5 miles a day. I still have so much pain, trouble sleeping. My daughter is an ER nurse ar Bottsford Hospital. She said they use it on all patients because it is so strong and effective. That is the problem, they want the sick people out of ER, and they can deal with us in their offices and rehabs, sad.
