I am having tingling burning sensation in my feet, legs and hands...

Posted at 1: 8 PM on Jul 22, 2007 by marilynanderson, #22456
I am having tingling burning sensation in my feet, legs and hands and arms. My blood pressure was not improving on 5 mg so I upped it to 10 and those symptoms are much worse. The tingling sensation goes all the way up my left arm and up above my knees on my legs. I have tried to take the Lisinipril before and stopped for these same reasons. My doctor does not seem to think that it is due to the Lisinipril. so I tried it again and the burning, burning sensation is driving me crazy and keeping me awake. I have to get up and stand in cold water for a while to get some relief. I have not read about anyone with the same symptoms. Does anyone out there have these symptoms??

I have been having similar symptoms. Feet feeling hot and tingling as you described with occasional tingling in my right arm. Kept thinking it was my arthritis but this is different. This is both feet and all around the bottom half of my feet. Makes wearing shoes a challenge. I've even done the cold water soak for my feet. I'm going to get off of this stuff. How can I exercise and improve my physical condition. I think it also is affecting my vision, sinuses, ears, thinking and I tend to feel dizzy at times.

I too, have the burning sensation in my legs, it seems as though it goes from by butt cheeks to the bottom of my feet. Could it be the medicine?

Have you received any replies to your question? I hope it helped. email me with any questions. i am not a doctor, but my doctors (all three including a urologist) said the same thing (my symptoms where not from the lisinopril). I made them change my meds today after reading this website with all of the symptoms. i think that you know your body better then anyone does. It is my opinion that if you believe your body does not react well to something, you should not take it. I also read one of these comments stating that this person who was having similar symptoms as you and I (i have more symptoms then you stated however) said that this is a product of venom from a brazilian snake. I appreciate that science can find a good thing from a bad thing, but I don't really want to take meds that are derived from snake venom. How about you? email me if you like (put lisinopril in the subject line) akilgoreaz@yahoo.com

I have been trying to figure out what is the cause of my problems for almost a year now. My hands turn red and the bottom half of my feet turn bright red, they look burnt. Than they burn and itch and it hurts so bad. Even my breasts when I am on my period burn. Also, 2 weeks before my period the redness and burning gets 10 times worse. It is unbareable. I can't stand more than 5 minutes in one place without my feet turning bright red and burning and itching. Also, the middle of my back burns and gets very hot. Also, I am usually cold all the time. I am so hot that when you touch my skin it feels like I have a fever, but I don't. I get so hot that I sweat and my thighs stick together, my underware and bra are wet from sweat. I am just feeling like I am on fire, I feel like I am burning all over, but my hands and feet show it more because they turn bright red. Also, any time i put pressure on my feet or hands it leaves a bright red indention and starts to burn uncontrollably and is very painful. I was told I had pressure dermatographia. But, I don't think that is what it is at all. if i fold my fingers inbetween each other and rest my hands on my tummy the insides of my fingers turn bright red and start burning. (i usually do this laying down relaxing) My doctor can't figure out what is wrong with me acts like i am crazy says it can't be the lisinopril. Well, after reading these posts i am getting off of this crap. I also take serequel and singulair which according to this sight can cause burning sensation also. Singulair gives me sever headaches also. So, i am getting off all 3 medications. I called my doctor today and she is on vacation so a nurse is going to call me back. I am getting off this crap and pray to God this is the cause and all this pain will stop. I can't take it anymore I am miserable.

I have been having symptoms of my hands burning so bad that they feel like they are n fire and it is so painful.......this seems to happen only at night when I lie down and it takes hours and hours to go away. My fingers also feel like they are asleep.....you know how when your foot falls asleep? Like that, only much worse and I have to shake my hands and massage them to try and get them to stop. This has been so bad at times that I have even thought I'd rather die than go on like this.

I am also on lisinopril but never even thought of that possibly being the cause. When I told my doctor, he said it was because I smoked and also acted like I was crazy. I am going to stop the lisinopril and see what happens. I am also on other blood pressure meds.....like 5 of them because my BP goes so high all the time but the lisinopril doesn't seem to help it anyway. Btw, thanks for this post. Now at least I have some hope that I can find a solution to this.

I have been getting a burning sensation on my legs, during the night when I am in bed. It is a weird feeling, it usually wakes me up, and I am a sound sleeper due to the fact I use a CPAP machine for sleep apnea. There is a little bit of an itching along with it. I do not do anything for it, and I do fall asleep again.
I just happened to do a google search and found your post.
so you are not entirely alone. I have not told my Dr. I won't unless it gets really bad. I do take several medications for various problems. I take Hytrin, Terazosin, furosemide, metoprolol, avapro, coumadin, crestor, glumetza, potassium, magnesium oxide and metolazone. Probably one of these or a combination of some could be the culprit. Do you think????
I am just starting a weight loss and diabetic control program, so hopefully when I lose enough weight, I may be able to get rid of some of those medications, and then maybe the burning will go away.
Thats all for now.

Yes!!!! your not alone, my problem started when i was about 18 years old my hands and feet would go bright red (sometime blueish purple) and the burning sensation would drive me carzy. The only thing thats stops this looking unsightly is when i apply my tan, which helps cover up the colour. When i last went to the doctors he said i have reynolds syndrom. Im booking myself in with my doctor to have blood tests soon.

Hope this helps

Name with-held Birmingham

I started taking Lisinopril 9 days ago. I was taking 20 mg, Within 7 days both of my feel and my fingertips had severe tingling and the doctor told me to stop the medication. It has been 2 days and no improvement in symptoms. How long does it normally take to go away?
