I started on Lantus about a year ago and have had many health problems ever since. I've been experiencing extreme diziness, short of breath, gained 20 lbs, fainting spells and presently have been hospitalized for extreme chest pain which travels to my shoulder blade. This pain is on my left side and had gradually gottten worse. Doctors will not consider that perhaps the lantus is having some kind of side effect. Anyhow, I have taken matters into my own hands and switched back to my humulin N and humolog R and i feel like a million bucks.
I hope both of you are feeling better.
My father has ben on lantus for several months, and now suffers aches and pains all over his body.
He has been an insulin injection diabetic for 50 years and is in excellent heath. Age 70 years.
The only change in his life is the introduction of lantus.
