So i began taking the birth control pill as a way to regulate my period and decrease cramping. Needless to say, i started with Alesse and all was fine, except i broke out badly on my back (i have never had acne especially in that area before).. so i switched to Yasmin and have been on it for a few months. Yasmin was great in removing the acne and regulating my period. I now have it for 4 days instead of 6 and my cramps are entirely gone. Recently however i began experiencing headaches and slight bouts of depression. The depression isn't very extreme, but i am feeling a lot more tired than usual, i'm sleeping a lot, and most importantly i've been feeling melancholic and indifferent about things. Therefore i have decided to stop taking it as of today (during my pack) and see if my mood changes. It isn't worth doing this to yourself.

Definitely stop taking it! I have been taking b/c for years and for some reason a dr. i had in another state (this was last year) switched me from what id been on for over a year to Yasmin. Needless to say my boyfriend hated me haha I was so depressed and emotional. I even remember crying from a commercial. I would cry over literally anything. It was nuts! So When I moved back to my home state, I went to planned parenthood and requested my old pill, Levora. I would suggest trying it. My period is good, and it doesnt induce migraines (I was treated for migraines years ago, and regular/high dose pills bring them back), and I am definately not crazy. Hope I was of some use,
Allison =)

I was on Yasmin for a few months. I experienced severe depression for a few days and a lot of break thru bleeding. I've never been that emotional in my life. It was horrible. My doctor switched me to another pill immediately and the side effects stopped.
