Hi--I am a smoker, also on both meds. All since Dec/january. Persistant dry cough---worse at at night. I have not slept through a night since January. After finding this site today, and seeing all the same symptoms--the dry cough, and vivid dreams, I am stopping today. My BP was not too high-I am on 2.5 mg. Chest xray was clear, with no wheezing. I have to keep water and hard candy with me at all times, since that is the only thing that helps when the coughing starts. I also get pounding in the temples when I cough-that sometimes will stay for hours.
One other thing--brushing my teeth in the morning causes severe gagging--and have even thrown up . Seems like when the toothpaste hits the back of me throat. Wierd....
Just started Advair 250 and wellbutrin XL about week ago and have been taking Lisinopril for a few years. Since starting the Advair and Welbutrin I have been coughing up mucas and constantly clearing my throat and coughing. I have been coughing-wheezing since starting Lisinopril and Dr. gave me Albuterol, and now Advair. Wow! I just happened upon this website while googling Advair/cough. Now I see there are a whole lot of people coughing with both Advair and Lisinopril. Does anyone else take this combination? I think I'm going to stop the Lisinopril and Advair and see what happens.
I take both Lisonopril and Celexa, but I just started the LIsonopril a couple of days ago. Before that, I was on a different HBP med and had no problems, except I wanted to cut down from 2 1/2 pills a day to one. Anyway, the only side effect I've noticed is that I have terrible heart burn and don't know if it's just coincidental or the med itself. I have noticed the drippy nose and cough, but I just thought I picked up a bug.
I was just prescribed Lisinopril last week for High BP and I'm calling my Dr. today to get a different medication.
The side effect started out not so bad but I'm having the same post nasal drip and choking at night that you mentioned and it seems to be getting worse.
My Dr. said to let her know if I had any problems but they try to start a patient on this one first to see how it is tolerated because some people don't have any side effects from it.
