I have been taking OMEprazole for approximately 2.5 months and recently I feel dizzy to the point I want to get a doctor appointment to have an MRI or CT scan on my head - my fear is that I have a brain tumor. I feel dizzy as if I am going to pass out, occassional sharp pains in my head and I feel sick to my stomach. I also feel extremely tired and recently like the left side of my body is weak. I am going to stop taking Omeprazole today to see if this is the side effect of the medicine. Anyone have similar experiences. If so, how soon do they stop after you stop taking the medicine? I was concinced I had a brain tumor - not so sure now. PS I am a very healthy 50 year old who is a marathon runner. Lately I have sucked on my runs due to exhaustion.

I have been taking Omeprazole 20mg. once a day for two weeks. I as well was worried about a brain tumor. For the past week, about one week after starting the medication, I have had daily headaches that are not relieved by ibuprofen, dizziness all day and feel like I have trouble with focusing my eyes. I stopped taking it yesterday. I hope these side effects go away soon.

I am a 55 y/o athletic female who began taking Omeprazole 20mg twice a day in early January 2008. After about 4 weeks, I began having severe vertigo - even to the point of vomiting, but I never once connected the vertigo the the Omeprazole.

While visiting my 80-year old father last weekend, he commented on his own use of pepcid and its side effects of dizziness. I was hit with the proverbial 2' X 4' right between the eyes -- I stopped taking the Omeprazole last Saturday; after 5 days, I still have bouts of dizziness though. How long does this med take to get out of one's system??!!!

wank . . . .better to ask your ?'s to your dr. who prescribed this drug . I suggest that you read some of posts and you will find this drug can cause many side effects. There are many natural products for health issues.
