I recently discovered that my Yasmin birthcontrol could be what is making me feel anxious and depressed lately. It comes in bursts one or more times a day where I feel lots of axiety, depressed and thoughts that I cant live like this anymore. I have stopped taking it and was wondering if anyone knew anything that could help me to relax when ever I start feeling out of control. I'm hoping to get it all out of my system soon and start feeling back to normal again. I'm tired of feeling scaired and sad and anxious. Any one else feel the same way? Any success stories from stopping the pill and how soon did you start feeling good again?

Hay it's been a month in a half for me since i stopped taking it. and i went through the same thing! Bad thoughts, anxiety, sprouts of depressions! terrible way to feel. I am doing better but i feel trumatized by the side affects! i hear it takes a while for your hormones to balance out on their own so give it time, eat healthy and exceersize it really helps. and drink lots of water because from what i understand it stays in your pours! feel better! hang in there!

I just started Yasmin and I've been having the same side effects such as the feeling that my life isn't going to make me happy anymore. I have occasional break downs triggered by things like arguments, loneliness, and failure. I've had a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach too and I figured it had to be the pill since I'm not on other medications. Is it birth control all together or just Yasmin? Also should I just wait it out until my hormones are used to it or switch to something different?

Hi,

I was on Microgynon for a number of years before changing to Yasmin which i been taking for 7 months. I have been off Yasmin for two weeks because i felt so emotional all the time, i found myself eating alot and drinking alot. I had breast tenderness two and a half weeks before i was due a period to the point where i was in to much pain to wear a bra.

My doctor has tried to tell me that it is not Yasmin giving me these problems but i have felt so much better since being off it. My eating has returned to normal im still emotional but i guess it takes a bit longer than two weeks for hormones to return back to normal.

I am back at the doctors Tuesday and will be asking them to change my pill.

I feel the same way with my loestrin 24 I seem more out of control in the morning. The keep telling me it is not the pills, well it is. There is one thing that really works for me it is vistral it is for anxiety and will calm you down the generic is pretty cheap and it is non narcotive so you wont get hooked on it like xanax. hope that I helped

I was taken off the birth control because my physician wanted to take some testing and could not do that with me while taking Yasmin. Which was not comforting because I have been on birth control since I was a young girl.
I was starting to have the same feelings as the most of you guys:
scared, sad, anxious, depression....etc. but the symptoms just starting becoming more priminent in my life within the last year or so. I thought I was going crazy because I had never felt this way before, I even starting seeing a psychiatrist because of all the symptoms. I have been off of it now for almost a month and everything is easing back into normalcy. I even just had a break up and I am actually doing fine with it. (something I dont think could have been possible had I still been taking Yasmin) I would definitely never take Yasmin ever again because now I know how detrimental those side effects can be to a person. Hope this is helpful in any way.

I just want to say as an update to my post, I've been off my pills for almost a month and I can tell a WORLD of a difference! I no longer get any bursts of depression or anxiety and I feel like I'm in control of my mind again. I now want to go out and do the things I used to love doing before I started feeling crazy! Its great! I will probably still have a few days where I feel crazy because I know that the chemicals are still in my body and havent fully worked out yet but i'm hoping all that is over with! I WILL KEEP POSTING and let you guys know how I feel! HANG IN THERE GALS, YOU WILL GET BETTER! <3
