I find your letter interesting as I sit here at my computer looking up "burning toes & prednisone". I have been on Prednisone for a while (although only 10 mg) now down to 8mg and the nightly burning and numbness in my toes is awful (they say it is peripheral neuropathy). It seems during the day and moving around doesn't bother me as much. I checked side effects of prednisone and that burning sensation is NOT listed as one of them. It is interesting to me that others have similar symptoms that is not listed as a side effect. I am going to try to take a benedryl in the evening to see if that helps. I'm also going to try to reduce the miligrams to 7 or maybe even 6. Of course the pain of Polymyalgia will be coming back as well. I guess I have to make a decision about which pain I want.. Yuch!!! Good luck to you. Wilma
I've just recently had to go back up to 10 mg daily of prednisone. The PMR and temporal arteritis are so severe that my energy is totally zapped. Exhaustion, fatigue are debilitating, and I'm hopeful that going from 5 mg daily back up to 10 mg will help those symptoms. Also am getting Remicade about every 4 weeks for rheumatoid condition. Anyone else out there on this regime?
Hi,
I lost my sense of taste after 4 months on 60 mg/day. It was awful.
I had all possible side effects as well so I just asked to be taken off that crap before it killed me. I lost a lot of muscle mass which also weakened heart.
No after 5 years my heart is going crazy.
Just watch it. It seems you should get off it now.
Wish you all the best
