I've had Mirena in for a little over 8 months and am pretty happy...

I've had Mirena in for a little over 8 months and am pretty happy with it.It was uncomfortable during insertion but not actually painful. There was some mild cramping, like you would experience when you start your period, and mild spotting. My periods haven't changed, they're still regular and light. I was already on antidepressents so I haven't had any problems with my mood. I get a pimple here and there when I'm going to start my period but no major breakouts. I haven't experienced any weight gain or loss in sex drive. No pain during sex either. Like someone said before, each woman is different. I've had a good experience with Mirena and would recommend it. My doctor instructed me to check for the string each month while on my period and this month I couldn't find it. It's very common for the string to coil up around your cervix but I made an appt with my OBGYN to be sure. Has anyone else had an issue with the string?
