I'm glad to know that there are other women out there with similar problems as me. I recently became engaged, sexually active and with that, became a new user of the Ring. It was reccomended to me by two family member s who love it and would never go back to all the other methods they'd tried in the past. I, however, am not as lucky as they are. I put it in on the first day of my period, as directed. My period lasted about 8 days when it usually lasts five and I had brown spotting for the rest of the month. Intercourse became very painful for me from the get-go. It was like a burning sensation and it was horrible enough that my fiance and I have not done it for two weeks. I went in to my gyno and she said I had a yeast infection and that the Ring was healthy for the vagina because the vagina LIKES the hormones in it and that the Ring should improve the atmosphere in the vagina, if anything. So, I've had two UTI's and a yeast infection since putting it in, bleeding after intercourse, maddening headaches, cramps, ACNE (which it is suppose to clear up), and severe mood swings. But, my doc won't switch me to the pill because she thinks that my body will adjust. I guess I'll just give it some more time and, if it doesn't straighten up within another couple of weeks, I'll demand something else because this just is not working for me as I had hoped it would!

I experience pain during intercourse too. If you dont mind me asking where does it hurt for you? My pain is where the ring sits inside, Im just wondering if its common...Ive decided to go off the ring. I loved it for months but recently Ive had mood swings, cramping and the pain during intercourse. Its not worth it to me. Birth control is supposed to improve your sex life not make it worse.

yes your doctor is right... usually after a few months preferably 6 months you should get used to the hormones and you will probably not have as servere if any side effects. my advice is to stay on it for a good while.

I have been on the ring on and off for over a year now. I have experienced all the same things. The extreme vaginal irritations, weight gain, moodiness, pain during sex, reduced libido, excrutiating headaches (I was diagnosed with migraines which I never got before I got on the ring) and a ridiculous amount of vaiginal infections. Some woman can go through life and never have a UTI. I've hade 4 just this year. The doctor told me the same thing too, that it was supposed to help with infections.....guess what, THEY LIED. Yesterday I had the ring in and started feeling the burning sensation out of no where...I haven't had sex in days. I took the ring out because it got to be so unbearable....It went away so I put the ring back in this morning, later this afternoon the burning was back. I took the ring out and I will not be using it again. I've had too many bad experiences with it both times I've used it. Its not worth it...take it out if its making you unhappy. No one should have to deal withthis.
