I had been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for 6.5 years and NEVER eperienced any problems. I got on Femcon because I was moving to a new state and inbetween insurance companies. My doc gave me a 6month supply before I left so that I could still be on the pill. I'm on the first two weeks, and like everyone else I have experienced break through bleeding. I haven't gotten headaches or mood swings. But as a teacher and a coach, I can't afford to have any of these problems. I'll stick it out for a little bit longer until my new insurance kicks in, but then I think I'm switching back. Anyone know how long this bleeding will last??? did anyone stay on it long enough to see if things setteled down afterwards?

I just finished my fourth month of Femcon. I had break through bleeding two of the first three months, which lasted about a week everytime. And of course I also had a regular period too. Really crappy. This is supposed to be totally normal the first 2-3 months of usage according to their website. I thought it'd be fine, but last month (the 4th month) it happened again. I did notice that I usually start bleeding the day after I've had sex, and typically during the second week of active pills. It really sucks. But if I have any breakthrough bleeding next month, I'm done.

ive been on femcon about 4 or 5 months now...honestly its the best BC ive been on...granted i havent tried ortho tri cyclin lo. i didnt have any breakthrough bleeding and it made virtually all the symptoms of my endometriosis ease if not disappear (though it takes about 3 months for that to happen). the only down sides are in the first month or two i was very depressed and a bit of a headcase. also i have bad bowel movements before my period but im told that has more to do with the endometriosis than the pill...its worked really well for me. before this i was on estrostep which was terrible.
