I had horrible side effects of Topamax. I could not concentrate and was often appeared drugged up. I had trouble driving and thinking. I also wanted to sleep constantly. Fortunately, a family member pointed out my behavior before I lost my job and before my life spiraled out of control. My migraines messed my life up enough and I'm bitter that this drug has made it worse. It didn't even help my migraines.

I had the same experience! My life did begin to spiral out of control. I am the mother of two young children and I feel like they lost their mother while I was on this medication (about a year). My husband and I had major problems - I moved out for a couple of months and when I stopped taking Topomax I went back to being my normal self (I could feel things, taste things and keep my train of thought!). It was like a horrible nightmare that I wouldn't wish on anyone. I did lose a lot of weight which was nice (because I usually carry about 5-10 pds more than I should), but it was certainly NOT worth a change in personality, trouble getting my thoughts together (just completely forgot what I was talking about mid-sentence) and not being able to be a mother to my children. Please be careful if you are prescribed this drug and have these side effects. It was scary!!!
