I had the mirena inserted almost a month ago, and ever since then I have had severe mood swings. I am constantly unhappy, easy irritated, and feel like a bad wife and mother. I have been on medication for anxiety for several years, and feel like it's no longer effective. Does anyone else have similar side effects from the Mirena? I thought the side effects were minimal and have felt like something must be wrong with me, and that it's not the Mirena, but I'm not sure this is a coincidence. Am I alone or are there others out there???
It seems with most people it gets worse before it gets better....I have pretty bad mood swings, acne etc, but was hoping they'd improve with time. bUt maybe I should remove it before it gets worse! Have had it about a year and a half, I think.
Did you get it removed? Have your symptoms improved?
What are you going to use instead? I really don't know what I will use. Im only 23, at uni and ultra senstive to hormones....
Have you thought about going to see a herbalist? I am a herbalist in training and have seen alot of people's pms improve by use of herbs. I haven't gone as I think the coil has to be removed first. But when I have I will go see someone. I don't think its right to have to be on anti-depressants for such a thing-its not getting to the root of the problem, just medicating with more meds!
Good luck, Ashley Edinburgh
