I also have painful fingers and toes after being in the sun on doxycycline. At first it was throbbing and stabbing pain, so I stayed out of the sun - 2 weeks later my thumbs and big toes are still throbbing and hot every evening and morning. Also, I am much more irritable on doxy when under pressure (which I usually handle easily).
