Me too! I started Januvia 2 months ago and my hair has literally been falling out in tresses. I had my thyroid tested, it was fine. I hope I can stay on Januvia because my sugars are awesome and I'm losing weight.

My hair seems to have stopped falling out. I also have lost weight, 12 lbs. in about 7 weeks. No sugar fluctuations, less food required. I am very happy. But will keep an eye on my hair.

I took Januvia for 7 months without any side effects that I was aware of. However, after a while, I noticed a drastic thinning of my hair. Like you, I could not tolerate Metformin. I have changed my diet and now take Metformin twice a day w/meals and so far, have tolerated it well. It works better for me in reducing my blood sugars than Januvia. I hope the hair loss is temporary! I can only assume that it is a side effect of taking the Januvia. Time will tell. Good luck to you.
