actually, recent research has shown that only at the higher doses used for seizure patients (since this med was originally meant for those with epilepsy, and these people take about 400mg/day) does it cause the liver to digest estrogen at an increased rate...which is the reason birth control is less effective. So you should be fine if only at 100 mg to remain on birth control and topamax but use another contraceptive method perhaps around ovulation and if taking antibiotics.
