I've been on Yaz since November 2006. So, for 9 months. My mood swings are MUCH better, however I have NOT changed my eating or exercise patterns and have in the last month and a half gained 6 lbs. I also have noticed - beginning in July, darkness above my upper lip (this is driving me crazy)

These are side effects of the pill....Please read the packet that comes along with these pills and you will see that you are experiencing them.

I have the darkness on my upper lip too. I have to wear 50spf on my mustach...or however you spell it....The only way it will go away is if you stop taking it....sorry. I actually did stop taking it b/c it was making me crazy and extremely emotional and the brown upper lip is still there. It is the sun that is making the brown appear.
