I was on Sulfamethoxazole-1pill 2x day/ 7 days- for an intestinal infection. I started on Monday and by Wednesday I developed abdominal pain on my left side, Thursday I was feeling so tired and not as alert as I should have been and I had panic and anxiety attacks while in a business meeting; my heart was beating through my chest even hours after the meeting had ended. Friday I realized I had developed a burning and itching sensation in the vagina area and that I had redness and white bumps all around it. Thanks to MONISTAT CREAM which I used for 2 days- twice a day- to help with the itch. On Saturday ( 3 pills away from finishing the treatment) after my husband found this web site and started telling me that all that had happened to me this past week were side effects retaled to Sulfamethoxazole, I stopped. I have been driking lots of water to help clear my system faster and today (4 days later) I am felling much better and my symptoms are starting to clear out.
