That is something that you said those things, I was on it for a week and a half...food taste different, everything was flat, and I had a wierd mood all the time, and did not sleep, and still had headaches, so my dr wants to put me on some other crazy medicine..it is like a vicious circle...I am not going to take it, the side affects are insomnia and headache, now that makes sense!!

I can relate to your side effects. I've been a migraine sufferer for about 11 years (diagnosed) and likely longer (undiagnosed). I took topamax previously at a lower dosage (50 mg) and didn't work so well. Worst problem was memory loss, short term. Now I'm at 100mg for the second try. I have lots of problems with nausea, food doesn't sound appealing, some weight noss, some tingling in feet, trouble sleeping, and mood problems. I vascilate between some depression and anxiety. Just seem to have trouble with focusing as well and some temper outbursts. That also goes along at times with migraines as well. My husband thinks I'm going crazy I know. It's hard on him. I'm discussing with my doctor next week. I'm trying to tough it out and believe it or not, comtemplating getting on another medication to balance out the moodiness. I just can't handle the migraines any longer. That's the decision only you can make. Balance the side effects with the headaches and consider other alternatives. Good luck!
