I just wanted to reply that I had a hysterectomy in June and had complications. My GYN had to call in a GYN Oncologist because there was too much internal bleeding and blood vessels were bursting that she wasn't used to dealing with. So I have an oncologist treating me with Lupron to shrink any remaining endometriosis. Although the complications were unfortunate, I am lucky that this cancer specialist is continuing to treat me. Because of his much more indepth knowledge of how hormones effect this, he is treating me with a 9 month course of Lupron using a very low dose of Premarin to stop the side effects. This is not typical add back therapy. Premarin is an estrogen, but because it is such a low dose, it isn't enough to sustain the endometriosis. After the first week, I have had no side effects from the Lupron other than being warmer than usual. No hot flashes, just feeling warmer than normal. I'm usually always cold and now I'm not. I suggest asking your doctor to see if this is appropriate for you, although he may have to do some research and ask to consult with an oncologist. My GYN had no idea about this. She would have used a progesterin add back, but this is much more effective.
