I took Doxycyline Hyclate for one week. After the fifith day, I woke up feeling like a golf ball was stuck in my throat. It progressively got worse over the next few days. When I swallowed, I had this sharp pain in my upper back. It got to the point where I could hardly stand the pain. I went to the doctor and they put a scope down my throat after a battery of other tests. The doc said I had signifigant changes in my esophagus due to the severe reflux that was caused from taking the Doxycycline. I am now on meds to help with the esophagitis I now have.

Hey!

I am deeply concerned about your post as i find myself in the same position.

I was prescribed doxycycline by a dermatologist for acne in september 07. i took it for three months and didnt get any acne or major side effects. but evcer since ive stopped about three weeks ago, ive been having pain swallowing AND recently, pain in my chest constantly and in my lower back.

I am getting worried and do not have access to proper healthcare factlities since i am not in the US. Can you please tell me your experience so i can maybe learn from it and apply it in my case for any precautions/dangers this might pose for me in the near future.

I am Male,31 btw.

Thanks a lot!!
