You are not alone I have been on it since the birth of my son , who is now 5 and i swear i am ready to go to the loony bin! I have been referred to and edocrinologist and tested for hypothyroidisum for which I had 15 of the 20 symptoms! I thought for sure I had found my deamon! Well turns out my endocrinologist was even baffled she thought I was a sure case of hypothyroidisum but my bloodwork said otherwise.....She looked into the only med I have ever taken since the birth of my son(nuvaring) since she was only slightly familiar.....and she told me she thought that the nuvaring was the culprit so I have since stopped taking it and I feel soooooo much different! I feel like the person I was before pregnancy! THANK GOD!

OMG! I have been on NR for 3 1/2 yrs. I too thought is was the best thing since sliced bread ;) That is until now. I am 29, married 4 years, with a 4 yr old son. I have NO sex drive. I mean ZERO. My poor husband goes MONTHS without sex. When we do, I am so dry that it isn't fun for either of us. This was not how things used to be. I am also tired and cranky all the time. My mood swings are terrible. I do have hypothyroid, and since all of these are common symptoms, I went to have my blood checked. Of couse, my thryoid came back fine. I thought I was loosing my mind. Thank god for this sight. After reading some of the withdrawl effects, I am worried. Any suggestions on a new BC?

I am a 31 year old mom of two and have been struggling to find something to alleiviate my pms symptoms for close to 5 years. I have been on the pill, the patch, merena IUD, and now the ring. I don't need it for birth control. My husband had a vasectomy after the birth of our last child. My Doc reccommended I leave it in for the 7 days I would normally take it out to get my period. I do that for 3 cycles and then on the forth cycle keep it out for the last 7 days and let myself get a period. I notced that after my period, right before it was time to put in the new ring, I had a strong intrest in sex and it was GOOD sex. As soon as I put the new ring in, my sex drive dissapeared again and intercourse was once again uncomfortable. I tried using long-lasting vaginal lubricating inserts and it made me have the most unpleasant discharge. Long story short: I think I would rather be a raging lunatic and bleed to death every month before I stop enjoying sex. I have also been noticeably depressed too, Probably due to the lack of satisfaction. I am taking it out!!!
