For what it's worth, I stopped taking Lisiniprol (5mg a day) two weeks ago because I too thought I was dying sometimes, or wanted to. ALL of the side effects have either subsided or disappeared altogether. I had a constant dry cough that kept me up all night, itching all over, a feeling of disorientation and inability to concentrate, erectile dysfunction and no sex drive, diarreah and constipation and everything in between. My BP had been back down to near "normal" soon after I started taking the drug but the side effects were not worth it. My BP is back up around 150/95 but I think I can live with that a lot easier than feeling like I was dying a slow death. Although I was in good shape before taking the drug I've increased my time on the treadmill each day and am doing more intense weight workouts since I stopped taking it and am hoping that will do the trick to help keep the BP under control without the drugs. A "normal" reading of 120/80 may not be as normal for a 52 year old as it is for a 25 year old as far as I know. I am now convinced that the health industry is in the business of prescribing drugs that will only make us sicker than what they say they are treating in order to sell even more drugs later on (did you ever hear of Restless Leg Syndrome before there was a drug to treat it?). I think getting off our butts and taking care of our bodies and not following blindly what a doctor tells us to take is the smartest way to stay or get healthy. The bottom line is - I feel better physically and mentally now that I am in control of my own health and not relying on a doctor who may only be trying to keep the drugs flowing so he gets his free lunch or trip to Cabo next year. Hang in there and believe in your own power to control and maintain your health. Best of luck!
I quit taking it on 07/02/07 I had all the symptoms listed here, I thought i was dying so I quit taking it and started taking 3 tbps of apple cider vinagar a day it keeps my bp down. it has been three months. all of my symptoms are gone except sometimes my hands cramp up, but that could be because i work on the computer all day......if I were you I would quit, being sick 24/7 is not a life, it is hell

I have stopped taking lisiniprol about 3-4 weeks ago. I have had swelling of the lip, the chin, hot flashes, and high anxiety. I understand the I may continue to have these symptoms for about another month. I now carry an EPI pen because I could have a stronger reaction. I hope that you get some relief soon.
